In the sixth and final part of “Racism, Human Dignity, and the Catholic Church in America,” Gloria Purvis shares a few stories that highlight the experiences of black women throughout time.
She shows that enslaved women’s experiences demonstrate how racist behaviors destroy human dignity and wound the entire community. These discussions are intended to be the start of a broader conversation about human dignity and racial justice. We hope and pray that this series will continue the conversation about ending racism in the Church and across the world.
Saints Peter Claver and Josephine Bakhita, pray for us!
