Submissions for E&C Online
Evangelization & Culture Online articulates and perpetuates the mission of Word on Fire to proclaim Christ in the culture through its online articles. We strive to meet readers where they are by striking a chord with their daily lives, offering the poignant perspectives people trust and expect from Word on Fire. We look for content that illuminates and advances the conversations taking place in the culture in a faith-filled and meaningful way. We embrace our mission to confront complex issues and communicate hard truths, but to do so charitably. We seek to address the issues and move each other forward with faith, hope, and love.
We seek content centered on these topics:

- Catholic History
- Evangelization and Contemporary Culture
- Technology/AI/Social Media
- Psychology/Anthropology
- Politics/Government
- Philosophy/Law
- Popular Culture/Entertainment
- Medicine/Bioethics
We accept submissions subject to review. If your submission is accepted for publication, you will be notified via email and given an approximate date of publication, which is subject to change. Writers receive compensation for their accepted work after its publication. If your piece is time-sensitive or trending (i.e., related to an event in the news or a particular feast day), please indicate that in the subject line of the submission. If within two weeks’ time you do not hear back regarding your submission, your piece was not accepted for publication, but we sincerely thank you for your time and consideration.
Guidelines:
— Topics should correspond to our core topics and mission.
— Writing must be high quality, precise, engaging, informative, and aligned with Catholic teaching.
— The writing should be presented in a coherent and clear essay structure and not be overly personal.
— Authors must be amenable to edits, open to discussions with editors, and flexible on recommended changes.
— Authors may suggest titles and alternative options, but it will ultimately be determined by the Word on Fire editor in order to optimize search engine performance and clickability.

— Word count must be at least 700 but no more than 2,000 words.
