Friends, the “new atheists” have emerged as strident critics of religion. More often than not, though, Christians agree with them, for the God they deny is one that we would deny as well.
In my address to the Thomistic Institute at St. Mark’s University Parish of the University of California Santa Barbara, I explore this curious situation with the help of St. Thomas Aquinas, looking especially at Thomas’ treatment of the noncompetitive relationship between God and the world.
