Word on Fire Announces 10,000 Rosaries Initiative For the Month of May

Word on Fire is turning to Mary in the month of May to pray for all those who have fallen away from the Catholic faith.

ROCHESTER, MN — Word on Fire is excited to announce a new initiative for the month of May to encourage Catholics to pray the Rosary. With May being the month when the Catholic Church honors Mary in a special way, Word on Fire is asking Catholics worldwide to pray a Rosary for all those who have fallen away from the Catholic faith. With a goal of praying 10,000 Rosaries, people are encouraged to pray a Rosary and log it on Word on Fire’s website as a visible sign of the power of prayer and an encouragement to others to participate in this faith-filled movement.

“Evangelization must be grounded in prayer,” said Bishop Robert Barron, founder of Word on Fire and Bishop of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester. “The Rosary is a powerful contemplative practice that quiets the mind and draws us into the depths of our faith. United around this common intention, we can pray specifically for the people we know who have left the Church, and also ask for the strength and wisdom we need to be effective evangelizers in our families, workplaces, and communities.”

For more than twenty years, Word on Fire has provided evangelistic resources to encourage Catholics to grow in their faith and to proclaim Christ in the culture—seeking to draw fallen-away Catholics and nonbelievers into the Church. Leading with the beauty, truth, and goodness of the Catholic faith, Word on Fire reaches millions of people each month through its online platforms, books, films, podcasts, and other media.

About Word on Fire

Word on Fire Catholic Ministries is a nonprofit global media apostolate that supports the work of Bishop Robert Barron and reaches millions of people to draw them into—or back to—the Catholic faith. Word on Fire is evangelical; it proclaims Jesus Christ as the source of conversion and new life. Word on Fire is Catholic; it utilizes the tremendous resources of the Roman Catholic tradition—art, architecture, poetry, philosophy, theology, and the lives of the saints—in order to explain and interpret the event of Jesus Christ. Word on Fire Catholic Ministries exists to draw people into the Body of Christ, which is the Church, and thereby give them access to all the gifts that Jesus wants his people to enjoy. To be most effective in this mission, Word on Fire places an emphasis and urgency on the use of contemporary forms of media and innovative communication technologies.
