On April 29th, the Church celebrates the feast day of St. Catherine of Siena, a mystic from the fourteenth century, and a Doctor of the Church. St. Catherine had numerous visions–vivid encounters with the heavenly realm, including receiving apparitions from the Lord. St. Catherine is also known for defending the Papacy in Rome and for her inspiring writings in the Dialogue.
