Greater than the Greatest Prophet

Moses, in today's first reading, "spies a prophet like me whom God will raise up." A prophet greater than Moses would be a very interesting and extraordinary character. And indeed Jesus was, claiming authority over the Torah, itself. The Holy One of God confronted the unclean spirits of the Gospel account in Mark, and he continues to battle spiritual disfunction within each of us in order to bring us to himself. The Divine Authority affects reality. He changes things. And if we let him, he changes us.
