FELLOW OF WORD ON FIRE COMMUNITIES

 

REPORTS TO: Director of the Word on Fire Institute

The Fellow facilitates and promotes the Word on Fire ethos of life and spirituality through the management of Word on Fire Communities. The Fellow will provide the necessary theological, administrative, and leadership expertise to assist in developing and implementing Word on Fire Communities of members of the Word on Fire Institute.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Assist in propagating the Eight Core Principles of the Word on Fire Spirituality through the Word on Fire Institute and all of the associated catechetical and spiritual offerings
  • Obtain a mastery of the content and vision of all of Bishop Barron’s content
  • Coordinate, manage, and facilitate national communities of small groups of Word on Fire Institute members and provide the necessary resources, spiritual growth opportunities, and in-person leadership to build successful discipleship in the vision of Bishop Barron
  • Oversee the application process of potential leaders of Word on Fire Communities and invite them to become members of the Word on Fire outreach in their area who will pledge to gather regularly with others for prayer, spiritual formation and fellowship, evangelization, and mutual support
  • Assist in building, growing, and maintaining communities of the Word on Fire Institute through regular contact with members and consistent dialogue with students and faculty within the Institute platform and in-person
  • Create extensive management process to oversee, monitor, and measure the participation of leaders and members of small groups
  • Create an extensive formation plan for the communities in regard to communal prayer, mission, outreach, and way of life
  • Assist in the creation of small group spirituality materials, i.e. prayer books, pocket companions, prayer cards, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s Degree in Theology, Philosophy, or Spirituality
  • Experience in both leadership and management
  • Strong communication and listening skills, flexibility, and problem solving
  • An understanding of the work of Bishop Robert Barron

Word on Fire Catholic Ministries is a nonprofit global media apostolate that supports the work of Bishop Robert Barron and reaches millions of people to draw them into— or back to— the Catholic faith.
