Friends, Friday, July 29, is the feast of Saints Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. In them we find the three great tasks of the Church: to worship God, to care for the poor, and to evangelize. These are my three priorities as the Bishop of Winona-Rochester. As I shared during Vespers, at my Installation Mass, and at the Mass of Thanksgiving, this is our great calling. The Church does not have a mission; the Church is a mission. We must declare the Resurrection of Jesus boldly to the world.
