To coincide with Pope Benedict XVI's recent visit to Malta, a group of Word on Fire supporters volunteered to host a screening of Episode One of
Catholicism at St. Augustine's Church in Valletta, Malta. It was the first official international screening of
Catholicism, and we are so grateful to everyone involved in making it a tremendous success!
Below are several pictures from the event.

Friday evening, the first episode,
Amazed and Afraid, was shown to a large group of Catholic youth in Malta. Their zeal for the message of the Church and support for the visiting Pope demonstrates a generation of Catholics entering the Church population who will be poised to stand firm in its teachings for continual renewal of the Church faithful. Here at Word on Fire, we are thankful to be a part of such a great event.
In addition,
Amazed and Afraid was shown to the congregation of St. Augustine's over the weekend.
Here is the view inside of the beautiful Church of St. Augustine.
Hosting or attending a screening of
Episode One: Amazed and Afraid is a wonderful way to introduce your friends and fellow parishioners to the
Catholicism Project and Father Barron's Word on Fire ministry. In so doing, you can help to bring people closer to Christ by spreading the message of the Gospel and all of the truth, beauty, and goodness it encompasses.

Thank you so much to all of our supporters and to the faithful, hard-working volunteers in Malta!
Here are some interesting statistics released through Vatican Press Office about Malta and the Catholic Church (available on
www.catholicnewsagency.com):
"94.4 percent of the country's 443,000 people are Catholic, and there are 853 religious and diocesan priests in their service.
This, according to the official statistics, means that there is a priest for every 490 Catholics on the island and an average of 10 priests for every place of worship.
In addition to the elevated number of clergy, there are almost 1,150 religious in Malta.
The Church in Malta also has 91 major seminarians, nearly half the number currently studying for the priesthood in Ireland, which has nearly 10 times the population."
