The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has gathered for its Fall General Assembly this week. Yesterday, USCCB President Cardinal Francis George, OMI, spoke to the Bishops regarding a recent letter he sent to President Obama, urging him to take measures to protect the persecuted Iraqi Christians.
Al Kresta from Ave Maria Radio's, "Kresta in the Afternoon,"
spoke about the Cardinal's speech to his fellow Bishops at the Fall Assembly. In addition, here is the complete
text of the letter that Cardinal George sent to President Obama.
FInally, yesterday we urged you to visit
this site and to participate in this letter-writing campaign for the families and surviving victims of the brutal atrocity carried out against Christians in Iraq.
Today is the last day to write a letter. Please participate in this effort, uniting with fellow Christians to express our solidarity, our support, and most importantly, our prayers.
