Path 1: Wednesday, October 20th at 10 PM EST and Saturday, October 23rd at 5 AM EST:
The first part in a sequence of talks revolving around the premise that the goal of every Christian is to become a saint. Fr. Barron outlines how to accomplish this goal in three ‘paths’ to holiness, the first one recognizing that if Christ is the center of your life, everything else will be harmonious.
Path 2: Wednesday, October 27th at 10 PM EST and Saturday, October 30th at 5 AM EST:
Fr. Barron explains that the second path to holiness is knowing you are a sinner, and that God’s anger in the bible is God’s passion to set things right. Additionally, people need to be conscious of their need for God.
Path 3: Wednesday, November 3rd at 10 PM EST and Saturday, November 6th at 5 AM EST:
Fr. Robert Barron discusses the third path to holiness - relaizing that your life is not about you - which is an attempt to give people a proper perspective of their place in the universe, distinguishing between the theo-dramatic and ego-dramatic approaches to life.

Today, Father Steve reflects on St. Luke, the Gospel writer who was traditionally held to be a great physician, artist, and evangelist. Father Steve's homily calls us to imitate the example of this holy man, pointing to the various means by which we, too, can participate in these three disciplines in our own spiritual lives.
St. Luke was a convert to the Faith and friend and fellow missionary with the Apostle Paul. Few details are known about St. Luke. The greatest testimong to the depths of his faith are found in one of the four Gospels and in the Acts of the Apostles. Luke is attributed as the author of both these inspired texts, and was therefore the privilged means by which the Holy Spirit communicated to the Church the truth of Christ's revelation in written form. Pious tradition assigns St. Luke the talents of being a physician, an artist and most importantly, an evangelist...

Yesterday, Father Barron and the Word on Fire crew filmed segments for the CATHOLICISM series at churches in the city of Chicago. This was last time that filming for the series would include stand ups with Father Barron- a sign to all of us that the production of this series is coming to its conclusion. The filming of the CATHOLICISM series has been quite an adventure. Father Barron and the Word on Fire team have traveled all over the world, taking in some of the most extraordinary expressions of Catholic culture. We went to these places not simply as tourists, but as pilgrims, seeking the Lord’s presence in these experiences. He found us, as he always does, and manifested himself to us in ways that kept us at times standing at attention and at other times brought us to our knees...
Word on Fire staff member Rozann Carter reviews the recently-released film, Secretariat, relating the value of the "hero" to the spiritual journey toward Christ.
Last night, I went to see Disney’s Secretariat
. The movie opens with a verse from the book of Job wherein God speaks to Job about His creation, citing the horse as an example of the majestic, twitching, untamable beauty that hearkens back to the incomprehensible mystery of its Creator:
“Do you give the horse his strength, and endow his neck with splendor? Do you make the steed to quiver while his thunderous snorting spreads terror? He jubilantly paws the plain and rushes in his might against the weapons. He laughs at fear and cannot be deterred; he turns not back from the sword. Around him rattles the quiver, flashes the spear and the javelin. Frenzied and trembling he devours the ground; he holds not back at the sound of the trumpet, but at each blast he cries, ‘Aha!’” (Job 39:19-25)...
