Sebastian
Fr. Barron. If I were not Christian, my beliefs would be very similar to Native American beliefs... in that they experience the Divine through all that is without sin, i.e., nature. Which in my view, goes beyond the intellect we have that is confined to this life/existance. It goes to that "place" that is beyond words, where words cannot describe... Heaven for instance. Just some immediate thoughts I had to your comments about religion/beliefs. I remain Christian because I am at home, very much at home, in my beliefs about Jesus and Who He is, the same would apply to my religion which is Catholic. I cannot unexperience Jesus/God, to do so would be denying Him, something I will not do. I understand the caution you recommend about "the force" and that belief system, because it can deny God, but any attempt to describe God in words, is only possible using one word, one name, and that is Jesus. For me to describe experiencing God in a "gentle breeze" for instance, is not possible in a complete sense. The Church, the world for that matter, could us a great deal more Holy Silence in my view... a time to "be still..." What I appreciated most about the movie Avitar, was the level of creativity... but its not a movie I would watch again, well... maybe after a few years had passed and I had no other choices.
