When we acknowledge, "God from God, light from light, true God from true God..." we acknowledge the "I Am" almost circular Divinity of "Father" and "Son"; the "Father" the creator, but not flesh; the "Son", both the creator and the CREATED, but of "Flesh"?
The Trinity, one in three, all God, all Light, all Truth, but in different forms; almost different dimensions or aspects of the One?
Jesus has a Soul. God the Creator/Father IS THE SOUL?
Incredible homily! God Speed!

Great homily. It reminds me of your "Catholicism" episode on the Mass and Eucharist.

I live in an area of England undergoing Islamification and have been told by Muslims, on a number of occasions, that they consider Jesus as a prophet of God. He is much more than that to me and I thank you for reinforcing my faith.

Great Sermon! Got 2 questions on Real Presence
2) Did all pre-Constantine Church Farthers believe the Real Presence?
2)I know Martin Luther believed the Real Presence, who was the first protestant denied the Real Presence?

When Jesus says that if you do not eat my flesh and drink my blood that you do not have life within you. Does this statement mean that if a christian does not receive the Eucharist but believes and has faith in Jesus to save them he/she will not be saved.

Fr Barron,
Thank you once again for your Holy Spirit filled message. I am a eucharistic minister for my parish. I consider it such a sacrede undeserved priveledge to help distribute communion.
I really enjoy listening to Moody Radio. One of the regular ministers on that station is Rev. John MacArther. He is such a dynamic preacher. I agree with about 99% of what he says. The problem is that he is very anti-Catholic. He has said munerous times that in no way did the Lord mean that the bread and wine becomes literally His body and blood. Of course he has his scripture passages that he says proves his point. I wish there was a way to convince him otherwise. I often wonder how he can deny hundreds of years of theology guided by the Holy Spirit. I'd love to have you debate him on this matter. I often thought what an incredible Catholic he'd would be, another Scott Hahn

I was truly "fed" by this sermon Father Barron. As a "revert" back to the Catholic faith, I've come to appreciate John 6 as fundamental to our belief/understanding of the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. This said, I do fear that this explanation of Christ's words in John 6 are rarely taught from the pulpit and neglected in many CCD classes/programs. Bottom line, I think this Gospel passage and your sermon are an essential piece of guiding/directing those within the Church, those who've left, and those outside who need to know the Truth.
Blessings and again, Thanks!

Uao !! Fr Barron your explanation has just moved my heart. Jesus -The word made flesh- the same one who said Let light be and there was light , etc,,is the same who says this is my body and this is my blood. I have never thought this passage in that way. God bless you for keeping us growing in our understanding of the gospel. God bless

I just want to say how much I enjoy Fr Barrons talks and that they are very useful in deepening my understanding and my faith.
The only thing I would like to say that I don't like is the last 2 or 3 talks for me have been spoilt by intrusive music as Fr begins and ends his talk some kind of percussion instruments have been used and that has completely ruined the whole talk for me. I don't mean the choral bits that introduce the cardinal those are except able it's just this awful and unnecessary percussioni instruments. Look forward to many more talks Thank you Fr

As a child the prologue of John's gospel was called The Last Gospel, and was read after every Mass before dismissal. I memorized these words hearing it repeated so often. Your commentary today deepened my understanding and love for these words of Scripure and for THE WORD who is JESUS. Thanks and God Bless You.
